Made to Measure

Aisle Bridal offers a fully made to measure service from the comfort of your own home, at a fraction of the price of a couture gown.   Unlike shop bought wedding dresses which are manufactured to standard sizes and then have to be altered, your gown will be individually tailored to your  measurements and designed to suit your personal requirements from the very beginning.

Design Consultation

You know what you like – and we can help you to realise your dream. Aisle Bridal will work with you to create a totally unique design, and the approved sketch will be part of your wedding gown portfolio.  Also included will be samples of your chosen fabrics from our range of quality silks, satins and taffetas.  We can also source unusual fabrics individually for you, and co-ordinate bridesmaids and grooms with your theme.

First Fitting

After you have settled on the design in consultation with us, we will measure you in detail at the First Fitting.   From these measurements, we create a ‘toile’ – a basic body shape in calico fabric from which the finished pattern will be cut.

Second Fitting

For complex designs, we will create a Test Dress which will be made up in simple fabric and then you will have a test fitting to perfect the pattern. This will take place around 2 months after the First Fitting.  Alternatively, you will have a second fitting of the basic toile to confirm your measurements and finalize cutting details.

Third Fitting

The dress will then be made up in your chosen fabrics and you will have a third fitting to complete your wedding gown around 8 weeks before your wedding.

Final Fitting

Any final adjustments will be made and your dress will be delivered to you for the Final Fitting two weeks before your wedding.   You can either take delivery at this point or we can make arrangements to hang the dress for you until you require it.

Hints and Tips

Buy your wedding underwear before the first fitting so that the dress can be crafted to sit perfectly over the top.  Decide on your heel height or buy your shoes so that skirt and train are exactly the right length.  If you plan to lose (or gain!) a lot of weight before your wedding, discuss this with our fitter.
